About ICMA

Our History

The history of the Indian Confectionery Manufacturer Association (ICMA) traces back to 1963, born from a need to cater to the unique demands of the Small Scale Industry, now known as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) within the confectionery sector. Prior to its inception, the industry was part of the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) since 1932. The formation of ICMA marked a significant milestone, leading to specialized attention to process automation, equipment innovation, and reformulation. Over the years, ICMA has grown to become the leading voice of the Confectionery Industry in India, representing the interests of manufacturers, and contributing to thousands of jobs and an industry enjoyed by millions worldwide.

To act as a bridge between government and confectionery manufacturers, and to provide a platform for collusion on policy advocacy to confectionery manufacturing industry in India at large.
